Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE): Windows Server 2003
The strength of Windows Server 2003 in the market today indicates that demand for related IT expertise will continue for years to come. The best way to demonstrate your expert skills on Windows Server 2003—and to inspire confidence in a hiring manager, your team, and yourself—is by earning Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) credentials.
In addition, if you are certified on Windows Server 2003, you have an efficient path to the Windows Server 2008 certifications.
The MCSE credential verifies your ability to analyze the business requirements for information systems solutions, and to design and implement infrastructures based on Windows Server 2003.
MCSE Specializations
There are two specialized MCSE tracks you should be aware of, since it could impact your choice of an elective. For example, you can choose either a ‘Security’ or ‘Messaging’ course as your ‘elective’ (seventh) course/exam, if your plan is to eventually take an eighth course/exam in order to obtain a specialized MCSE.
MCSE: Messaging requires 8 exams: The ‘Messaging Specialist’ track is the same as the ‘seven-exam’ MCSE track, plus one extra elective course – and BOTH electives you take must be messaging courses.
MCSE: Security requires 8 exams: The ‘Security Specialist’ track is the same as the ‘seven-exam’ MCSE track, plus one extra elective – and
BOTH electives you take must be security courses.
